HOW TO WORK ON THIS ASSIGNMENT ( EXAMPLE ESSAY/ DRAFT)
Introduction: In this reflection, I will be exploring potential psychology-related careers that may be available in my community. I have recently read Chapter 6: Personality and Abnormal Psychology in the course textbook and reviewed information on Mental Health by the Numbers, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia by Telemedicine: Is It as Good as In-Person Treatment?, and “A Day in the Life of a Psychologist” web pages. These readings have given me a better understanding of the numerous aspects of psychology I have learned about throughout my studies at the University of Arizona Global Campus.
Career Search: To explore potential psychology-related careers in my community, I utilized a career search engine, such as Indeed or Glassdoor. Upon searching, I was able to find a variety of psychology-related careers that may be available to me. Some of these careers include clinical psychologist, school psychologist, industrial-organizational psychologist, neuropsychologist, and forensic psychologist.
Clinical Psychologist: Clinical psychologists are licensed professionals who work with individuals, families, and groups to diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders. They use a variety of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, to help patients overcome mental health challenges and improve their quality of life.
School Psychologist: School psychologists work with students, teachers, and families to address the social, emotional, and academic needs of children. They may help students with behavior problems, provide individual and group counseling, and conduct assessments to determine the demand for special education services.
Industrial-Organizational Psychologist: Industrial-organizational psychologists apply psychological principles and techniques to the workplace. They may help companies improve their hiring and selection processes, design training programs, and assess the effectiveness of workplace policies and procedures.
Neuropsychologist: Neuropsychologists specialize in studying the brain and its relationship to behavior and cognition. They may work in hospital settings, conducting assessments and diagnoses for individuals with brain injuries
