This paper will explore the infrastructure of the Indian healthcare sector about rural and underserved populations, traditional medical practice, closed-panel providers, and older persons. It will also discuss the challenges to the Jordanian healthcare system identified in a 2002 Ministry of Health/World Health Organization report and identify the difficulties associated with the “health transformation program” in Turkey.

Healthcare Delivery in Rural and Remote Areas of India

India has made significant progress in improving healthcare delivery over the past few decades. However, the country still faces challenges in providing quality healthcare to its rural and remote populations, where there is a lack of healthcare infrastructure and limited access to medical professionals. The Indian government has implemented several initiatives to address these challenges.

One of the most significant initiatives is the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), launched in 2005, which aims to provide accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare to rural populations. However, the program has also faced significant challenges, including:
